Trade policy reforms made trade faster by reducing procedural bottlenecks and improving coordination between agencies. TMA-supported interventions contributed to stronger Integrated Border Management, implementation of World Trade Organisation Trade Facilitation Agreement measures, and practical tools that helped agencies monitor and improve border performance. The results included:

• In Tanzania, reduced checkpoints along the Dar es Salaam-Tunduma corridor from 17 to 3, cutting average transit times by more than 40%.
• Clearance time at OSBPs was cut by up to 30%.
• In Uganda, the Electronic Single Window and Regional Electronic Cargo Tracking System helped halve clearance times and saved millions in trade costs.
